There is more suffering in our minds than in our reality.
For this week’s mindfulness exercise, take a moment to sit still and calmly consider the events occurring around you. Spend as long as you need to on each event. Whatever emotions these events invoke, let yourself feel… and then release those feelings with an exhale.
Continue this exercise until you are able to look at these events with an open mind.
Ask yourself: Have these events caused you more distress than they should have?
If the answer is yes, consider why. What is the root cause of your distress? Is it something that you can resolve peacefully?
If it isn’t, consider what you can do to ease your pain. It will improve with time.
